IMPRESS had a very productive couple of days at the IMechE Incontinence: The Engineering Challenge X conference in London which featured question and answer sessions from a number of individuals, both male and female, who live with incontinence or4 care for a loved one with the condition.
Here one of our IMPRESS network members who manages incontinence on a daily basis gives her perspective on the conference:
‘This two day event has a male and female panel interspersed with new innovations and surgical ideas. Any question may be asked but its down to the patient to decide whether they wish to answer it. There has never been a question asked that hasn’t been answered. The patients give a full and detailed insight in what it takes to live with incontinence, even over lunch or in the toilets! Very appropriate really. Surgeons talk on the latest surgical methods. Engineers come up with new and exciting inventions. Its an amazing event for all the attendees to network with each other.’
