A fun day was had by all at our Kids Wearable Tech workshop on Saturday 8th December 2018 at the Thackray Medical Museum. We welcomed back 11 families who participated in our first workshop in August to test a prototype of a smart watch app aimed at helping primary school aged children manage their continence issues.
The children all engaged fully with the prototype which had been developed by EatFishDesign, set up on a smart watch and then configured with each parent’s bluetooth device during the course of the workshop. The families were able to test the app whilst undertaking a bespoke treasure hunt around the museum designed to ensure the children tested all the functions on the app. We received some excellent feedback which can now be fed into further work to refine the prototype version of the app.
We were very pleased to have the BBC World Service join us on the day to record the workshop as part of their work towards producing a parenting podcast due to be released in early 2019 for the CrowdScience programme series.
